Fundraising Lead
Ira Bhattacharya
Ira was a teacher and researcher in Environmental Biochemistry in her early career and lived and worked in the USA and Australia. In 2001 she decided on a career change and trained to work with children and young people. Since then Ira has worked for Devon County Council and Buckinghamshire Council Children Services in Education Welfare, Fostering and Adoption in Children Services Commissioning for 18 years. Now retired from paid employment, Ira is keen to devote more time than before working with the voluntary sector.

Ira strongly believes that offering the right service for children and young people has to be “for them from them.” She is proud to work with an organisation like Live Unlimited that strives to improve the lives of Barnet’s children and young people in care and beyond.
